he Sports Inquirer attended the post-practice presser of Georgia Tech baseball player Brandon Gold  following his team’s selection into the NCAA Tournament on May 30. The Yellow Jackets have been assigned to the Gainesville Regional with national seed and host Florida, Connecticut and Bethune-Cookman. Georgia Tech opens on Friday against the Huskies.

Topics with the junior pitcher/infielder from Alpharetta includes facing Connecticut, his prospects of starting that contest, thoughts on making the NCAA Tournament, using previous postseason experiences to help younger teammates and representing North Fulton on a national stage.

The Sports Inquirer attended the post-practice presser of Georgia Tech baseball player  Matt Gonzalez on May 30. The Yellow Jackets earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and slotted into the Gainesville Regional with Florida, Bethune-Cookman and host University of Florida. Georgia Tech opens against the Huskies on Friday.

Gonzalez, a senior from Acworth, leads the team in hitting with a .370 batting average.

Topics included thoughts on the contest, the Yellow Jackets earning a postseason spot and traveling to Gainesville.
