Time to preview week seven of the NFL year with my predictions

Music to listen to: Drunkship of Lanterns by The Mars Volta

I had another good prediction period last week, going 9-5 after going 10-4 the week before. I can’t explain the good fortune that I’ve had but I’m just going to ride it out as far as I can.

Here are the picks (home team in CAPS):

Pittsburgh (-3) MIAMI: When it gets to this point, you have to take the better team, even if its on the road.

Cincinnati (+3.5) ATLANTA: The Bengals defense is decent enough to make this a field goal contest.

I caught some of the T.Ocho show on Versus and as much as I wanted to hate it, it wasn’t terrible. While I still find Terrell boring, Chad is entertaining and has some funny commentary on things.

KANSAS CITY (-9) Jacksonville: Seeing how the Jaguars darn near quit at home on Monday night against Tennessee, I don’t see how they’re going to travel to Kansas City and keep it close. If the Chiefs were ever going to blow somebody out this season, it’s the Jaguars.

TENNESSEE (-3) Philadelphia: The Eagles are a good squad and it seems like either quarterback they play will be fine but I have a feeling that the Titans are going to win one of their patented 17-13 contests, just covering the spread.

Washington (+3) CHICAGO: Its hard to predict which team will come out on top of this one but seeing how much the offense of the Bears has stalled with the offensive line giving up too many sacks, I’ll take the points.

NEW ORLEANS (-13) Cleveland: Colt McCoy on the road, no thanks.

BALTIMORE (-13) Buffalo: I don’t like giving this many points but what has Buffalo shown you this season to prove that they will be in this contest?

CAROLINA (+3) San Francisco: I know that the 49ers won their first game last week against Oakland and are not a bad squad but I don’t see how they’re a favorite traveling across the country in the early game of the week.

St. Louis (+3) TAMPA: I was not on the Sam Bradford train when the Rams took him first overall and paid him all of that money. I was concerned with his lack of ability and bum shoulder. He’s looked well and while I’m not ready to purchase my ticket on to his bus, I’m at least looking at the bus schedule to catch it in the future.

SEATTLE (-6.5) Arizona: If you can figure out the NFC West, than you’re a better man than me.

New England (+3) SAN DIEGO: I know they’re home but how can you have San Diego as the favorite in this contest. Knowing my luck with these things, the Chargers will play its most complete game of the season and win by two touchdowns over New England.

Oakland (-8.5) DENVER

GREEN BAY (-2.5) Minnesota: I think this is an even matchup but I’m going with the home team in hopefully Brett Farve’s last game ever in Green Bay.

DALLAS (-3) New York Giants: The Cowboys are going to be extremely desperate squad that knows that if this isn’t a win, a coaching change will take place and the season will be over.

Those are my thoughts, what about yours?
