Music to listen to:  Louisville State of Mind by Kasanova

What I like:  The Cardinals have the best offense in the Big East lead by dynamic sophomore Terry Bridgewater, who will look to improve from his outstanding freshman campaign.  The top four receivers return to the squad along with a solid offensive line.  The defense is also excellent against the run.

What I don’t like:  Louisville gave up 20 passing touchdowns last season, which is inexcusable for a Charlie Strong defense.

Uniform Grade: B-

The red, black and yellow combination is solid.  I don’t mind the black jerseys because its part of the school colors.  I don’t approve of the same jerseys having “The Ville” on the front of them.  You can’t have the nickname of your city on the jersey, its unprofessional and cheap looking.  That knocks the grade down one half-letter.  I would also like to see a red or black helmet alternative.

Schedule:

9/2  Kentucky

9/8  Missouri State

9/15  North Carolina

9/22  at Florida International

9/29  at Southern Miss

10/13  at Pittsburgh

10/20  South Florida

10/26  Cincinnati

11/3  Temple

11/10  Syracuse

11/24  Connecticut

11/29  Rutgers

I was tempted to predict an undefeated season for the Cardinals but don’t like the contest at Pittsburgh.  I can also see North Carolina being a difficult contest, even though being at home will help.  The Southern Miss game will also be tricky along with one of those Big East home contests.

Former/Current Co-Ed I would like to attend a Box Social with:

As far as women who actually attended the school, I’ll throw some love to Angel McCourtney.  However…

It’s a tough call between Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Carpenter and Nicole Scherweizer as far as women from Louisville, the city.  I respect the rise of Lawrence and Dexter is my stuff but its hard to argue against a Pussycat Doll.

Final Thoughts:  This season may be the best chance that the Cardinals have to returning to a BCS bowl in several years.  They clearly have the most talented team in the Big East with the departure of West Virginia and the fact that TCU and Boise State didn’t join the conference.  An undefeated regular season isn’t out of the question but a more realistic goal of a clean slate though the Big East is possible.

Prediction: 10-2 (6-1 Big East)
