Louisville baseball season ends at College World Series
Another highly successful season for the Louisville baseball team came to an end on Monday afternoon in a 4-1 loss to Texas in a College World Series elimination game at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.
Reaching the 50-win plateau for the second straight season and the third time in five years, the Cardinals (50-17) were unable to capitalize on their second straight trip to Omaha going 0-2 at the CWS in back-to-back seasons. Despite ending its season earlier than hoped, Louisville maintained its upward trend in 2014 by winning its fifth conference championship in six years, hosting its fourth NCAA Regional in six seasons and its second NCAA Super Regional in school history while making its third CWS appearances in eight seasons.

Syracuse And Georgetown Announce Men’s Basketball Series
Syracuse University and Georgetown University announced today in a joint release that the schools will renew their long-time rivalry in men’s basketball beginning in the 2015-16 season with a four-year, home-and-home series.
One of the preeminent rivalries in all of college basketball, Georgetown will host the Orange at Verizon Center during the 2015-16 and 2017-18 seasons and the Hoyas will visit the Carrier Dome in 2016-17 and 2018-19. Specific dates have not been set.
The teams have met 90 times in program history, with Syracuse leading the head-to-head series, 49-41. The Orange won the most recent encounter, a 58-55 victory in the 2o13 BIG EAST Conference Tournament.
The game against Syracuse will be the first regular season matchup between the teams since the Hoyas beat the Orange, 61-39, at Verizon Center, clinching the 2012-13 BIG EAST Regular Season title.
Georgetown and Syracuse were two of the original members of The BIG EAST Conference that first competed in the 1979-80 campaign. The teams met for the first time in 1929-30 and all but 17 of the 90 games in the series came while the programs were affiliated with The BIG EAST. Syracuse became a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2013-14.
