Release from Kennesaw State Athletics
KENNESAW, Ga. – Just three months prior to the tipoff of the 2014-15 season, the Kennesaw State men’s basketball team is joined by four new players, adding depth at key positions for head coach Jimmy Lallathin.
Kendrick Ray, Jordan Neff, Cameron Neysmith and Justin Diecker have all been added to the roster and will hit the hardwood for the upcoming campaign.
“We’re very excited as a staff to get these guys on campus,” said Lallathin. “They’re going to add a different dimension to our team and help get us to where we want to be. All four bring in something different and it’s going to be exciting to see how they fit in with our system.”
Ray, who comes in after two seasons at Quinnipiac University, will see time as a point guard for the Owls. During his freshman season with the Bobcats, Ray played in 30 games, averaging three points and 1.4 assists per outing.
Neff, a Kennesaw, Ga., native, played four seasons of varsity basketball for North Cobb High School, helping bring the team to the Final Four his senior season. The Atlanta Journal Constitution All-State player will see action as a forward.
Neysmith, a 6-4 guard out of Norcross, Ga., is coming off of a season at Massunutten Military Academy where he took the prep school to the National Prep Elite Eight. A four year player at Parkview High School, Neysmith was a McDonald’s All-American nominee.
Diecker, a true freshman out of Freeburg Community High School in Freeburg, Ill., arrives on campus as a 6-8 forward for the Owls after spending four years as a varsity player.
