KENNESAW, Ga. – Anaiah Boyer of the Kennesaw State volleyball team has won Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
“What a great honor for Anaiah and our team to earn this award after a fantastic weekend by her,” head coach Keith Schunzel said. “Every week since preseason started six weeks ago, Anaiah has kept learning, getting more comfortable on the court and continues to raise her game to new levels, and this weekend was no different. What’s most impressive about it is that she’s putting up big attacking numbers while being asked to pass, play defense and play all six rotations. The great news is that both Anaiah and our team know that we are just starting to scratch the surface of where we’re going to be a few months from now and everyone continues to train hard and keep improving, because this team is excited and driven to try to reach its potential.”
Boyer was named to the Coastal Carolina All-Tournament Team after a totaling 37 kills and 36 digs over the three matches. She led the team in kills and digs in two of the three matches while averaging over three kills and digs per set.
This is Boyer’s first career Freshman of the Week award.
