Release from Atlantic Coast Conference:

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Georgia Tech’s Ollie Schniederjans and North Carolina’s William Register have been named the ACC Co-Golfers of the Month for September.

Schniederjans, a senior from Powder Springs, Ga., won his sixth collegiate tournament in the last 12 months while helping Georgia Tech to a second-place finish at the Carpet Capital Collegiate. He then closed with rounds of 67-67 and finished third individually to help the Yellow Jackets topple a strong field in the DICK’s Sporting Goods Challenge.

For the month, Schniederjans posted a stroke average of 68.67 with five of six rounds at or below par.

Register, a freshman from Burlington, N.C., hit the ground rolling for the Tar Heels with three top-20 finishes in his first three collegiate tournaments, including a record-breaking win at the Primland Collegiate Invitational. After two under-par tournaments to start his career, Register recorded a 17-under 199 to win at Primland, setting new program records for lowest 54-hole tournament overall score and in relation to par.

His performance was the 10th in league history under 200 in a 54-hole tournament, and he is just the eighth ACC student-athlete to break the mark. For the month, he had a scoring average of 69.33.
