The Kennesaw State men’s basketball team won its third Atlantic Sun Weekly award in a row when the conference office named Damien Wilson as the Newcomer of the Week on Monday, January 19.

Wilson averaged 23.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in the games against Northern Kentucky and Lipscomb. He has set a new career high in points in five of the past six games and has had two double-doubles.

“This is another great honor for Kennesaw State men’s basketball,” head coach Jimmy Lallathin said. “Damien has continued to get comfortable with his new surroundings and his talent is starting to show. I believe Damien is only going to get better and continue to be a tremendous asset for KSU.”

Wilson is leading the team in conference play and is third in the A-Sun averaging 18.7 points per game.

This is the first time he has won an A-Sun weekly award.
