Georgia State’s Harrow Named to Lou Henson Mid-Season Watch List

Georgia State senior Ryan Harrow has been named to the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List as announced by CollegeInsider.com. Harrow was previously named to the preseason watch list and is one of 40 players on the mid-season list.

The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the Division I “Mid-Major” Player of the Year. The award is named in honor of Henson who retired after a spectacular coaching career that lasted 41 years.

The 2015 recipient will be announced at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Banquet on April 3 in Indianapolis, site of the 2015 men’s NCAA Basketball Championship.

Harrow leads the Panthers and is second in the Sun Belt in scoring, averaging 20.4 points per game, which is also 11th in the nation. He is also averaging 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game, while shooting 49.1 percent from the floor and 40.0 percent from 3-point range.

He enters play on Saturday just 49 points shy of 1,000 in his two seasons at Georgia State, already have surpassed 1,500 points for his career.

Harrow has scored 20 or more points in 11 of 17 games this season, including a season-high 29 against Texas State earlier this month. He has currently scored 20 or more in each of the last five games.

Harrow was an All-Sun Belt First-Team selection last season and named to the 2014 Sun Belt All-Tournament Team following Georgia State’s run to the tournament championship game. He was selected by the coaches as an All-Sun Belt Preseason First Team member as well.

Georgia State (12-7, 5-3 Sun Belt) sits just a game and a half out of first place in the league. The Panthers will host UL Lafayette on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the GSU Sports Arena.
