Release from Kennesaw State Athletics:
The Kennesaw State football team has added Shorter to its 2015 schedule, head coach Brian Bohannon announced on Wednesday (Jan. 28).
The Owls and Shorthawks will meet at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 19. The addition of Shorter to the schedule replaces a previous game versus Paine College that was cancelled when the Division II program announced it would be suspending football.
Shorter, which is located in Rome, Ga., competes at the Division II level and is a member of the Gulf South Conference, is coming off a 3-8 season in 2014.
Kennesaw State kicks off its inaugural season this fall at East Tennessee State on Sept. 3. The Owls’ first-ever home game is scheduled for Sept. 12 when they host Edward Waters at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
Kennesaw State, which is an associate member of the Big South Conference, will play six home games during its inaugural season, including non-conference contests against Edward Waters (Sept. 12), Shorter (Sept. 19) and Point University (Oct. 10). The Owls also will host conference opponents Gardner-Webb (Oct. 17), Monmouth (Oct. 31) and Charleston Southern (Nov. 7).
