Georgia Tech Volleyball Has Three Named To All-ACC Academic Team

Sophomores Teegan Van Gunst and Annika Van Gunst, and freshman Annika Olsen of the Georgia Tech volleyball team were named to the All-ACC Academic team as announced by the league Wednesday. It marks the first All-ACC Academic honor for all three Yellow Jackets.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

Teegan Van Gunst was named to the Capital One Academic All-District second team in 2014 and holds a 4.0 cumulative GPA in mechanical engineering. A 2013-14 ACC Honor Roll selection, Teegan Van Gunst led Tech with 392 kills (3.32/set) and tallied the second-most aces with 20.

Annika Van Gunst owns a 4.0 cumulative GPA in mechanical engineering. During the season, she recorded the second-most kills on the team (326) and the third-most aces (16).

Olsen is a business administration major that earned a 4.0 GPA in her first semester on the Flats. On the court, Olsen shared the libero responsibilities and logged 11 matches with double-digit digs.
