Release from Kennesaw State Athletics:

The Kennesaw State men’s basketball team lost its final home game in the Convocation Center during the 2014-15 season 78-53 to Northern Kentucky.

“You have an opportunity to have a championship situation on your home floor for Senior Night and I don’t think we came out with the same energy that Northern Kentucky did,” head coach Jimmy Lallathin said. “We kept telling them that they were fighting for the same thing that we were and one team came out and executed much better. That starts with me and Coach Bezold and he did a better job with that then I did. We get back at it tomorrow with a safe trip to Nashville and to get a win up at Lipscomb.”

Senior Delbert Love finished with 12 points, two assists and two steals.

Yonel Brown led the team with 18 points.

Both teams came out early going shot for shot with each other with the lead changing four times.

With the Norse trying to open up a lead, a Brown three pointer at the 11:20 mark made cut the Norse lead to five. Over the next nine minutes, the Norse buckled down on defense and held the Owls to three points and extended their lead to 40-18.

NKU had a 44-24 lead at the break.

In the second half, the Owls got within 17 four times, but that is as close as the Owls would get the rest of the way.
