Release from Georgia State Athletics:

After throwing a no-hitter against Troy on March 7, Georgia State softball pitcher Katie Worley was named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. The no-no was the first for GSU since 2011.

A native of Milton, Fla., Worley struck out a career high 14 batters en route to her third win of the season. The junior finished with 29 strikeouts over 16.2 innings of work with a WHIP of 1.02. She improved to 3-0 overall this season.

Three days before her no-hitter, Worley broke her previous career high with nine strikeouts in the second game of the doubleheader at Mercer on March 4. She capped the week with six strikeouts in the series finale against Troy on March 8.

The 16-2 Panthers are off to their best start in program history and have won a record 13 consecutive games
