Behind two home runs from Alex Hugo along with a combined no-hitter thrown by Chelsea Wilkinson and Brittany Gray, the Georgia softball team earned a 14-0 road win over Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Wednesday night.

No. 8 Bulldogs improved to 25-5 on the season while the Yellow Jackets fell to 11-16. Georgia has won the last five contests between the two teams.

Wilkerson (14-4) had four strikeouts on no walks over four innings of work to earn the victory. Combined with Gray, the Bulldogs completed its fifth no-hitter of the season, the most in a single season since 2004.

Kylie Kleinschmidt (3-10) took the loss for the Yellow Jackets, giving up six runs, four earned, and four hits over two innings of work.

The Bulldogs scored two runs in the top of the first inning, highlighted by an RBI single to left field by Tina Iosefa, driving in Hugo.

Georgia added to its lead on an infield single to third base by Sydni Emanuel in the top of the second inning, scoring Adele Harrison, making the score 3-0. Hugo cleared the bases on the Bulldogs’ next at bat with a three-run homer to center field, extending their lead to 6-0. Hugo finished the game with eight RBIs.

A two-run single by Iosefa in the top of the fourth drove in Paige Wilson and Sydni Emanuel, making the score 8-0.

Maeve McGuire’s double to left center scored Katie Browne, increasing Georgia’s lead to 9-0 in the top of the fifth inning. Later in the inning, Hugo hit her first-career grand slam for her second home run of the contest. Overall, the Bulldogs scored six runs in the inning.
