Release from Kennesaw State Athletics:
Junior Jordan Hillyer earned Atlantic Sun Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week after his complete game shutout Friday evening against FGCU, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
“I thought Jordan [Hillyer] had an excellent performance against a very good offensive team in FGCU, “head coach Mike Sansing said. He was able to shut the Eagles down offensively and it was a huge challenge. He took pride in that and I was very happy for his efforts this weekend.
Hillyer, who has pitched eight innings or more in four of his last six starts, pitched another gem and went the distance allowing only three hits in the shutout. He struck out four FGCU batters and helped KSU earn the 5-0 victory to open the series on Friday. The right-hander now has 69 strikeouts on the season. For the season, Hillyer is 4-3 with an ERA of 2.35.
