Stanford Transfer Patrick Skov joins Georgia Tech football

Former Stanford fullback Patrick Skov has signed a grant-in-aid agreement to play his final year of college football at Georgia Tech, head coach Paul Johnson announced Thursday.

Skov, who will graduate from Stanford in June with a degree in international relations, has been admitted into Georgia Tech’s MBA program. Per NCAA rules, he is scheduled to be immediately eligible to play in 2015 and will have one year of eligibility remaining. Skov is slated to play B-Back in Georgia Tech’s offense, which led the nation in 2014 with a school-record 342.1 rushing yards per game.

In three seasons at Stanford, he played 39 games for the Cardinal, rushing for 25 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries. He was named first-team Pac-12 All-America as a junior in 2013 and as a senior in 2014. He also was named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Team.

Born in San Francisco, his family moved in 1999 to Guadalajara, Mexico, where he and his brother Shayne learned how to play American football.  The Skov family story was chronicled in November 2013 on ESPN.
