Release from Georgia Athletics:

Georgia true freshman Keturah Orji finished third in the triple jump at the USATF Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., over the weekend.

A native of Mount Olive, N.J., Orji traveled 45 feet, 3 ¾ inches on her fourth of six attempts to top 13 other competitors at the meet.  Only adidas Garden State Track Club’s Christian Epps, who won the meet with a mark of 46-2.75, equaled Orji with three jumps that measured more than 45 feet.  As her first year competing for the Bulldogs came to a close, Orji was the only collegiate competitor who finished in the top seven at the USATF meet.

Orji completed her freshman campaign by winning the 2015 NCAA outdoor triple jump title.  She was the national runner-up indoors and swept the 2015 Southeastern Conference indoor and outdoor crowns.  In addition, Orji scored two points for Georgia in the long jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in mid-June.
