Georgia¹s Nick Chubb Included On Doak Walker Award Watch List

Georgia sophomore tailback Nick Chubb has been named to the watch list for the Doak Walker Award, which is given to the nation’s outstanding running back.

Chubb, a 5-10, 220-pound native of Cedartown, Ga., garnered Freshman All-America honors and was named the consensus Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year in 2014.  He racked up 1,547 yards rushing, which is tied for fourth in school history for a single season (Garrison Hearst, 1992), and 14 touchdowns in his first season.

Hearst won the 1992 Doak Walker Award while suiting up for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs start their 2015 season versus Louisiana-Monroe in Sanford Stadium at 12 p.m. on Sept. 5.  The SEC Network will televise the matchup.
