Release from Georgia Tech Athletics:

Georgia Tech senior defensive tackle Adam Gotsis was named to the 2015 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Preseason Football Team released Thursday by the league office.

The team was selected by a vote of 163 media members, many of whom attended the ACC Football Kickoff earlier this week at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C.

Gotsis was the leading vote-getter among defensive tackles with 87 votes. He was a 2014 second-team All-ACC selection, starting all 14 games along the defensive line. He finished the season eighth on defense with 36 tackles, while registering 6.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks. He has been a staple on Techs’ defensive line, making 27 consecutive starts at defensive tackle.

The Abbotsford, Australia, native has been named to the preseason watch lists for the Bednarik Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Outland Trophy, and Rotary Lombardi Award.

In addition to Gotsis, fourteen Yellow Jackets received votes for the All-ACC Preseason Football Team. Redshirt junior quarterback Justin Thomas finished second to Clemson’s Deshaun Watson with 33 votes. Bryan Chamberlain (63) and Errin Joe (16) received votes at offensive tackle, Trey Braun garnered 30 votes at offensive guard, and Freddie Burden picked up 11 votes at center.

On the defensive side, 2014 Freshman All-American KeShun Freeman and Jabari Hunt-Days each received six votes at defensive end and defensive tackle, respectively. P.J. Davis (33) and Demond Smith (1) earned votes at linebacker, while D.J. White (10) and Chris Milton (3) received votes at cornerback. Jamal Golden garnered votes from the league media at both safety (16) and specialist (4).

Placekicker Harrison Butker (1) and punter Ryan Rodwell (3) also received votes for the preseason team.
