Release from Georgia State Athletics:

Senior Deidra Bohannon was named preseason All-Sun Belt Monday as the conference announced its all-conference team and Coaches’ Poll. Georgia State is picked to finish sixth in 2015, one spot ahead of last season’s finish.

After earning postseason all-conference selections that last two seasons, Bohannon is poised to have another strong outing in her final year on Decatur St. She led GSU last season in kills with 432, good for third in the Sun Belt, and was also third in the conference in kills-per-set at 4.00. Bohannon holds the GSU record for career kills (1,001) under the 25-point scoring format.

Bohannon is one of six seniors on the GSU roster this season. Georgia State is predicted to finish sixth in the conference this year as voted by the coaches, one spot better than the team’s 2014 finish. Little Rock, the team picked to repeat as regular-season champs, visits the Sports Arena Oct. 11.

Georgia State opens the season Aug. 28 at the Western Carolina Tournament. The home opener is slated for Sept. 8 against cross-town rival Kennesaw State.
