The Sports Inquirer spoke with Georgia Tech volleyball player Gabriela Stavnetchei before her team’s practice on Sept. 6 for an exclusive interview. She had a career-high 19 digs and 16 kills in the Yellow Jackets’ road contest against Kansas State last week for her first career double-double.

Topics with the Brazilian sophomore outside hitter included Georgia Tech’s performance so far this season, the team’s defensive effort, her comfort level as a sophomore, the recruiting process for coming to the school, interaction with other collegiate players from Georgia-based programs and preparing for the Georgia Challenge.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Thursday at home against Georgia State and Kennesaw State.
