The Sports Inquirer spoke with Georgia Tech volleyball head coach Michelle Collier before her team’s practice on Sept. 19 for an exclusive interview. The Yellow Jackets earned a 3-2 home win over Georgia on Sept. 14 and a 3-1 victory against Arkansas the next day.
Topics included the Georgia win, having an experienced upperclassman middle in junior Kodie Comby, the increased role of middles in collegiate volleyball over the past 10 years and their defensive responsibilities, the play of true freshmen including outside hitter Mikaila Dowd and preparing for ACC play. Georgia Tech opens ACC play at Syracuse on Sept. 21.
