The victory was the NASL Fall Season home opener for the Silverbacks and the last contest with technical director Eric Wynalda as head coach.

The Atlanta Silverbacks threw away a two-goal halftime lead and fell to the Tampa Bay Rowdies, 3-2, in the NASL Fall Season Opener at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Fla.
