The Sports Inquirer attended the presser of Atlanta United player George Bello following his team’s 2-1 home win over the New England Revolution on Oct. 6. The 16-year-old scored a goal in the contest which makes him the youngest United player and the sixth-youngest player in MLS history to achieve this mark. He had two tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery in the victory. Topics included the Panthers’ improved play on defense, rushing for more than 300 yards on offense, converting third downs and importance of earning win in first Sun Belt Conference contest of season.
The Sports Inquirer attended the presser of Georgia State football players in wide receiver Penny Hart (left) and quarterback Dan Ellington (right) following the team’s 46-14 home win over Louisiana Monroe on Sept. 29. Hart had seven catches for 42 yards while Ellington had 287 total yards and two touchdowns, one passing and one rushing. Topics included the Panthers’ strong play in the red zone, the improvement of the offense from the previous week and the team rushing for 368 yards in the victory.
