Release from Georgia State Athletics:

Georgia State senior Ryan Harrow led the Panthers to a perfect 2-0 record and scored his 1,000th point in a GSU uniform last week to earn Sun Belt Player-of-the-Week honors as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Harrow averaged 24.0 points, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals in the Panthers’ wins at UT Arlington and home against Arkansas State. The senior shot 56.7 percent from the floor and 91.7 percent from the free throw line.

On Saturday, he became the 19th 1,000 point scorer in Georgia State history, reaching the milestone in just 54 games, the second-quickest in program history and only the fifth player to accomplish it in two seasons.

He started the week by scoring 25 points and helping the Panthers overcome an 11-point second-half deficit to score a win at UT Arlington in a match-up of second-place teams. Harrow played 39 minutes, going 9-of-19 from the floor, 6-of-6 from the free throw line and dishing out four assists while swiping four steals.

In just 28 minutes of a rout of Arkansas State on Saturday, Harrow scored 21 points, going 8-of-11 from the floor and knocking down 5-of-6 free throws. He added three assists in the win.

For the season, Harrow leads the Sun Belt in scoring, averaging 20.6 points per game and is second in dishing out 4.3 assists per contest.

He was also named Sun Belt Player of the Week on Monday by College Sports Madness.

Harrow is the second Panther to be recognized by the Sun Belt this year, joining junior R.J. Hunter who earned the honor on Dec. 2.
