Co-Offensive Players of the Week
Jehu Chesson, Michigan
Sr., WR, Saint Louis, Mo./Ladue Horton Watkins

  • Caught 10 passes for 207 yards and four touchdowns in Michigan’s victory over Indiana, including the game-tying score with two seconds remaining in the fourth quarter
  • Became the first Big Ten wide receiver to record 200 yards receiving and four touchdowns in a single game since 2003
  • Matched a school record with four touchdown receptions in a game, tying a mark set in 1992
  • Claims his first offensive award and second career weekly award after being honored on special teams on Oct. 12, 2015
  • Last Michigan Offensive Player of the Week: Jeremy Gallon (Oct. 21, 2013)

Jake Rudock, Michigan
Sr., QB, Weston, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas

  • Completed 33 of 46 passes for 440 yards and a school record six touchdowns in the Wolverines’ win at Indiana
  • Marked the ninth time in Big Ten history that a quarterback threw for at least six touchdowns in a conference game and the second time since 2004
  • Threw the game-tying touchdown pass with two seconds left in regulation, then added two more touchdown tosses in overtime to secure the victory
  • Earns his first career weekly award

Defensive Player of the Week
Malik McDowell, Michigan State
So., DL, Detroit, Mich./Southfield

  • Set career highs with eight tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss in Michigan State’s victory over Maryland
  • Also registered a forced fumble and a half sack
  • Anchored a Spartan defense that recorded a season-best five takeaways
  • Earns his first career Defensive Player of the Week honor
  • Last Michigan State Defensive Player of the Week: Shilique Calhoun (Oct. 19, 2015)

Special Teams Player of the Week
Griffin Oakes, Indiana
So., K, Greenwood, Ind./Greenwood

  • Matched a school record with four field goals, converting all four of his attempts against Michigan
  • Registered field goals from 39, 36, 51 and 24 yards
  • Leads the Big Ten and ranks ninth nationally with an 88.9 percent field goal conversion rate this season
  • Claims his second career Special Teams Player of the Week honor
  • Last Indiana Special Teams Player of the Week: Griffin Oakes (Sept. 29, 2014)

Freshman of the Week
Shannon Brooks, Minnesota
RB, Atlanta, Ga./Pickens

  • Rushed for 86 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries, averaging 6.1 yards per attempt against Iowa
  • Threw his first career touchdown pass, a 42-yard toss in the fourth quarter
  • Added three catches for 13 yards in the contest
  • Wins his second career weekly award
  • Last Minnesota Freshman of the Week: Shannon Brooks (Oct. 12, 2015)
